Animal Crossing: City Folk – Revealed

July 15, 2008 by SuperMario290

Today was Nintendo’s conference at E3 and there was the biggest announcement for Animal Crossing on the Wii yet! The name is Animal Crossing: City Folk and they showed many aspects of it. I’ll get a video up here as soon as I find it.

These are some of the things that were announced:

  • City – You can leave your town and go to a city, which has various things to do. There are also many shops, including one owned by Gracie.
  • WiiSpeak – That’s right! You will be able to talk with other people in your town.
  • 2008 – The game will come out this year.

More News for Animal Crossing Wii?

July 11, 2008 by SuperMario290

I wouldn’t beleive anything completely until it comes right out of Nintendo’s mouth, but this sounds pretty reliable:

“And if all goes to plan (and our sources haven’t played a mean trick on us), that hands-on coverage will be of Animal Crossing and Punch-Out!! Wii, aka Nintendo’s great hopes for 2008.”

The article goes on to say that Animal Crossing Wii has been finished for a while, and though it isn’t an MMO as suggested by rumours earlier this year, it features heavy use of Wi-Fi sharing (and presumably multiplayer, as in Wild World).

New Site Up!

December 20, 2007 by SuperMario290

Yes, the new official site is up and running. The URL is animalcrossingaddict.com. That will be the new place where I’ll post all of the news at. Right now it’s just going to be a blog, but later it will become a full-blown site. Check it out now! :D

Animal Crossing is For Girls

December 16, 2007 by SuperMario290

I think this is pretty funny, and ridiculous, but go and check it out anyways.

A game about cleaning and decorating seems stereotypically female, but guys love Animal Crossing. Working for Tom Nook, digging up fossils and catching one of K.K. Slider’s concerts provides hours of amusement, as does sending the town’s residents dirty letters.

Check it out!

Wild World is Two

December 16, 2007 by SuperMario290

Yes, two years ago on December 5th, Animal Crossing Wild World had just come out, and people all around the world were flocking to get their hands on it. Now, it has sold millions of copies, and has 200,000 to 300,000 Wi-Fi connections Each week.

Happy Birthday Animal Crossing Wild World! :D

Edge Magazine Says AC Wii to be an MMO?

November 30, 2007 by SuperMario290

That’s exactly what an article in the latest edition of Edge said…

While we’re still waiting for Nintendo to officially confirm anything about a Wii version of Animal Crossing (apart from the fact that it’s coming), Edge’s latest issue opens with the news lead: “Animal Crossing goes MMO”.

The latest issue of the mag reports, “A Japanese source has confirmed to Edge that the upcoming Wii iteration of Animal Crossing is set to be a social networking MMO.”

No further details are reported so we’re left hanging about exactly when we’ll be able to buy cheap turnips off the black market in Russia.

I think that it would be really cool to have both a single player game and a MMO Wi-Fi game. I can’t wait until it comes out, and I’ll be sure to keep you guys updated. ;)

No Signs of Animal Crossing Movie Coming To the U.S.

November 30, 2007 by SuperMario290

GoNintendo reader Mike, sent in a querry to Nintendo of America about whether or not the Animal Crossing Movie would come to North America.

Currently, there are no plans to release the movie you asked about here in North America. For the latest Nintendo news, be sure to check our website at www.nintendo.com.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.
Dervin Camden got from Nintendo of America.

Not exactly the news I’d like to hear right now. But no matter, I’m sure it will come to the US soon enough.
