Tips and Tricks for Animal Crossing: Wild World

How to change the background of your inventory:
1) Grab a shirt or pattern. 2) Drag it to the lower left corner. 3) It’ll be over an invisible space, drop it.
Hold 10 extra items:
This is a really easy trick. Just buy 10 letters, leave them blank, than pull an item onto it so that it becomes a present. Tada, 10 extra slots.
How To Get a Perfect Town Rating:
First, divide your town into 16 x 16 acre squares, similar to the acres in Animal Crossing for Gamecube. You can use patterns on the ground to mark the acres. Next, make sure every acre has 12-14 trees that aren’t touching each other. Then put 3 flowers in every acre and you should have a perfect rating. And of course make sure there are no weeds or trash in your town.
Store more items:
Speak to Pelly in the town hall (or Phyllis, if it’s at night) and choose “Save a Letter”. You can save up to 75 letters, and you can attach gifts/items to these letters so you can keep 75 items in the post office, plus the 90 items in the dressers, and you can do this with all 4 characters, for maximum item storage.
Getting furniture from your neighbors houses:
If an animal in your town has furniture in his or her house that you want, send them seashells, unwanted furniture, or fossils to them in the mail. They’ll usually put these gifts in their house, displacing whatever was there before. Check the recycle bin at your Town Hall and the item you wanted from their house may be in there.
Know when a balloon present comes:
You can’t know the EXACT time when a balloon comes, but they have to come when the time is xx:x4, the fourth minute. When a balloon comes, you will hear the wind wooshing.
Instantly Cure Sick Villagers:
When one of your villagers is sick, you’ll have to give him/her some Medicine every day for about a week to cure him/her, but an easier way to cure him/her is to get on WiFi or multiplayer, then the villager will be immediately cured when someone visits your town.
First Roof Color:
Your first house’s roof color can be customized, believe it or not. Simply change your DS’s menu color from the DS setup screen and your house will have that same roof color. NOTE: this only works with the color you have set when you first move into a house.
Gold Roses:
First you must put red roses near each other until they eventually breed black roses. Then when one of your black roses dries out you must water it with the Golden Watering Can. The next day the black rose will have transformed into the Golden Rose.
Get both girl and guy haircuts:
Go to Harriet and get a haircut. Repeat this every day until you have gotten every haircut. There are six total. Then the next time you get a haircut she will mention getting a girl haircut for guys and vica-versa. If you let her she will do the different haircuts. You have a choice about this every time you get a haircut from now on.
Become friends with Celeste:
If you talk to Celeste (the observatory operator) everyday and say “You’re cute,” She will eventually become friends with you and have conversations with you.
Hold flowers in mouth:
To hold a flower in your mouth, take any flower (except a dandelion), and pick it up. Then go into your menu, and you should see the flower and a outline of your person. Drag the flower up to them, and it will appear in their mouth. If you do this with a dandelion, it will appear in their hand, then when you exit the menu and hit A, your person will blow and all of the things will fly off.
